Love The Bus Month! Love the Bus is an ongoing campaign celebrated on Valentine's day and throughout the month of February in school districts across the country to recognize hundreds of thousands of school bus drivers who safely transport children to and from school. CPCSC is very lucky to have a team of dedicated transportation employees who make sure our students receive the necessary support and services to be educated, cared for and fed. Please thank our staff if given the opportunity. They are essential to the success of our school corporation!

Black History Month 2024! Clark-Pleasant Community Schools Corporation recognizes February as Black History Month. As members of the Clark Pleasant Community Schools, we enter February with a deep sense of reverence and appreciation for Black History Month. This month serves as a reminder of the countless contributions and enduring legacies of African Americans throughout history. From trailblazing leaders and activists to artists, scientists, and innovators, their impact resonates across every aspect of society. Black History Month is not only a time to reflect on the struggles and triumphs of the past but also a call to action for a more inclusive and equitable future. It is a time to amplify Black voices, acknowledge systemic injustices, and commit ourselves to meaningful change. Let us use this month as an opportunity to educate ourselves, uplift each other, and stand in solidarity against racism and discrimination. Together, as a part of the Clark Pleasant Community Schools, we can create a world where every individual is valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

First in the State of Indiana! Whiteland Community High School is the first school in Indiana to have installed The Translation Station. This device, which looks much like a common copy machine, fills the so called, translation gap, when it comes to translating challenges facing schools. CPCSC Technology Director Brandan Wright and Title IX Director Ruby Butler helped install and test the device on Tuesday. For more on how it works check out this weeks Warrior Wrap Up coming up Friday.

CPCSC STAFF SPOTLIGHT Lucas Corley WCHS Radio & Television Instructor It’s like running a business, a department and a class, all in one. For the past 4-years Lucas Corley has been leading the Radio & Television studios as well as classroom instruction at Whiteland Community High School. “Corley”, as his students fondly call him, says teaching a “Pathways” elective course like this is all about building relationships. “TV & Radio are such a forward facing part of this school. Our broadcasts literally help to build the brand of Whiteland Community High School”, says Corley. Mr. Corley has a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Indiana University. However his love for broadcasting is what has led this Southern Indiana native to Whiteland where he’s built a program that currently serves about 130 students each day. Because of his interaction with the athletic department he works with many more students on a typical day. He says most of his students may not even realize how fortunate they are to get this kind of on the job training and experience that can lead them to a professional career very quickly. “Just the equipment they get to work with, the camera work and talent opportunities are second to none. We will typically do about 2 or 3 broadcasts each week which create amazing opportunities for these students”, stated Corley. He says it’s a lot of work but that none of it works without all the amazing teachers and staff members at WCHS. He says his goals, once the high school is completely renovated, are to have upgraded space and equipment that will make this program the best in the state. For now he says, it’s about getting more students, one at a time, comfortable with the wide world of broadcasting. He’s even reaching out to 8th grade students who have interest to come and take a look at what the program has to offer. This die-hard IU fan says one thing people might be surprised to know about him is that he grew up a Purdue fan. He also loves to travel and he’s into music. In fact he keeps his guitar in the classroom. He says to parents if you students are interested in sports broadcasting that there’s a spot for them in his class.
