Resource Drop-In Day!

STEM Knowledge!
Today in Mrs. Evans 6th Grade Science class, students dissected barn owl pellets looking for evidence for predator–prey relationships and ecosystems. “When kids dissect owl pellets, they can see and identify the tiny bones from that owl's meal and can learn about the owl's diet and position in a food web,” said Evans.
Students were challenged with identifying the origin of the bones located within it. This was a perfect culminating activity to wrap up 6th Grade Science Standard MS-LS2-3, which is learning about the Cycling of Matter and Flow of Energy in an Ecosystem.

Meeting Students Needs!
CPCSC educators from across the district are participating in a three-day training focused on teaching content while also helping students develop academic and social language. This knowledge and strategies can have a positive impact on all students, especially our growing multilingual student population.

National Custodian Day 2023
Happy National Custodian Day to all of our CPCSC custodians. Thank you for helping our buildings SHINE!

A group of CPMS Cross Country runners competed Saturday at the Indiana Middle School Cross Country State Championships. Both teams placed 20th, overall. Leading the girls was 7th grader Gabi Goedeker with a 21st place finish. For the boys 8th grader Colton Watson, who was STATE RUNNER-UP by only .7 of a second broke his own school record. Congrats everyone!

Strike Up The Bands!
Tomorrow WCHS will be hosting the ISSMA Marching Band competition with 30 bands from across the state coming to perform. It is one of the largest events on our campus each year.
This event uses every single parking space and that means thousands of participants, spectators, trucks, buses, etc...
Your own Whiteland Marching Warriors perform at 8:30 PM and would love to hear you screaming in the stands for them! Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.
Thanks so much for your support of this huge event and the WCHS Band!!!

It will feature students from Greenwood, Clark-Pleasant, and Perry Meridian Middle School.
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and enjoy an evening of great music!

The Singing Teacher!
Eighth grade History teacher, Scott Parkhurst tends to employ unique teaching techniques to reach his students. Perhaps one of the most fun things he does is sing to them. Not just any song...he actually writes songs about the subject matter. Today the History Department celebrated Constitution Day so Mr. Parkhurst wrote a song about the Constitution. To hear it go to our Facebook page.
What some people may not know is that Mr. Parkhurst is an actual recording artist who recently released his debut album at an event in Franklin. The album completes four years of work and includes songs like; "My Cadillac" and "I Don't Write Love Songs". You can read more about it in NUVO.
We caught up with Mr. Parkhurst and his colleagues as they welcomed students this morning at CPMS.
