They work while we sleep. Sometimes we walk around them in the halls, not always "seeing" them or their work as important. That's why we love this day—National Custodian Day, which rolls around every October 2. It recognizes the hard work it takes to keep our public facilities in tip-top shape, as well as the people who diligently work to ensure we have spotless and sanitary schools.
Custodians are our first line of defense in the war on germs, and often, it's a thankless task. So, on National Custodian Day, show your appreciation to the custodians who clean our schools. Custodians are the hardest-working people in the "show" business!

WCHS AP Environmental Science Teacher, Taylor Tatlock, took her AP Environmental Science students on a field trip to the Indianapolis Zoo Wednesday. The outdoor lesson was to enrich lessons about biodiversity.
OSHA Cards Presented!
Three WCHS students, Charles McMichael, Jackson Mullins, and Mackenzie Bowen, received their OSHA cards on Wednesday, making them eligible to work on a construction site. The cards were presented to them by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cassandra Shipp.
These students are part of an Innovative-Groundbreaking Program announced earlier this year between Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation and The Howard Companies construction firm. The Howard Companies donated $25,000 to the high school to launch the program. This program is a new civil construction pathway program that aims to equip Whiteland Community High School students with the skills and credentials necessary to be employable and ready to join the workforce or continue their certifications upon graduation.

Commended Students!
We are proud to announce that WCHS Seniors, Jaiden Buskirk, Alexander Smith, and Sabiha Thind have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.
This honor is awarded to about 34,000 students across the nation who have shown exceptional academic promise through their outstanding performance on the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. While they will not proceed to the next stage of the competition for National Merit Scholarships, being named Commended Students places them among the top 50,000 students in the country, highlighting their outstanding potential and accomplishments.
Sabiha aspires to attend medical school and become a pediatrician. She currently holds the positions of president of the student council and vice president of NHS and Best Buddies.
Jaiden serves as a drum major in the band and is a skilled saxophonist. He plans to pursue a degree in mathematics.
Alex has set his sights on attending Purdue University to study engineering and mathematics. He is actively involved in NHS, the band, and is a member of the math and science academic team.
We extend our congratulations to Jaiden, Alexander, and Sabiha on this outstanding achievement!
Making The Pitch Perfect!
The construction of the Whiteland Community High School Soccer Complex redevelopment project for the Clark-Pleasant School Corporation is progressing well. The complex will include three separate buildings: a 4,500-square-foot main complex building with concessions, restrooms, locker rooms, a conference room, and trainer and coach offices; a 130-square-foot ticket booth with a new sign and gated entrance to the complex; and a new press box with three floors of 550 square feet each as well as a viewing platform on top.
Currently, our focus is on the main complex building. We have completed building the foundation walls for this structure and are now preparing to lay the slab, followed by block walls.

Whiteland Community High School student Annabelle White has been selected as one of fourteen Johnson County students who have been named a 2025 National Merit Scholarship semifinalist. She will now have the opportunity to compete for nearly 7,000 available scholarships that will be offered in the spring.
Annabelle, who is undecided about her college choice, expresses her desire to pursue a degree in Computer Science. She has numerous accomplishments, including overseeing the “Girls Who Code” program. Additionally, the 17-year-old is a member of the marching band and jazz band, interns at Endress + Hauser, and is also a member of the National Student Council.

Attention Warrior Football Fans!
Due to the limited parking spaces on campus, we are excited to announce a new FREE shuttle service for this Friday's big game against Franklin.
We will be offering a free round-trip shuttle service from the CPCSC Transportation Center (bus garage) located at 999 Front Street to the CPCSC Academy (a short walk across the parking lot to the football stadium). Please share this information with anyone planning to attend the game.
Please note that public parking will not be available at the Academy; it will be reserved for shuttle buses only. Park at the transportation center to catch the shuttle.
Shuttles will be running from 6 pm until kickoff and will also be available after the game.
We would like to extend a huge thank-you to the CPCSC Transportation Department and the Clark-Pleasant Police Department for making this service possible!

The Season Begins!
A huge congratulations to the Marching Warriors on their outstanding first competition performance of the season this weekend at Columbus North.
The band placed 2nd in their class and received a lot of complementary comments from their adjudicators. It was a GREAT start to the season!
Next weeked we go up to Northwestern HS in Kokomo with a performance time of 8:45 PM. Hope to have lots of Marching Warrior fans in the crowd screaming for our talented students!

Always a Teacher!
Students in Callahan Walts Earth Space Science class at WCHS were pleasantly surprised by their substitute on Tuesday. It turned out to be Dr. Edsell, the superintendent a former high school math teacher. He seemed very comfortable in his role as a substitute.
