SUPERINTENDENT'S COFFEE
You're invited to join Dr. Timothy Edsell, CPCSC Superintendent, for our next Superintendent's Coffee, Sept. 12th at 7pm. He will be discussing current initiatives and provide updates on events happening at CPCSC.

Dear Clark-Pleasant Families,
We would like to make you aware that a total solar eclipse will take place April 8, 2024. This eclipse will reach across 16 states but will be most prominent in Central Indiana, especially in Johnson County. Therefore like many nearby school districts, we are making plans for a synchronous E-Learning Day on 04/08/2024. We are making this decision out of an abundance of caution as the eclipse will take place in Indiana for over several hours. Additionally, we are being told by local emergency management officials that there will be a significant influx of visitors coming to our county during this time period creating major concerns with transportation and congestion.
The Butler University astronomy department projects the partial eclipse will begin in Indianapolis around 1:50 pm and that the total solar eclipse will occur at 3:06 pm and end at 3:09 pm. The partial eclipse will end at 4:23 pm.
While learning will continue online for this day it will be a great educational opportunity for our students to learn more about the solar system. We will provide more information as the date approaches but if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your respective school building administrators. For more information on the path and viewing times of the eclipse please click on the link below.

Day 1 at WES!
After a rain delay caused flooded classrooms on Wednesday students at Whiteland Elementary were welcomed back by Principal Brent Schmidt, Superintendent Dr. Edsell and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Shipp, this morning. Water damage was confined to the kindergarten classrooms. Crews worked all day Wednesday and into the night to make the rooms look like new again so Kindergarten teachers could welcome little ones who are just beginning their K-12 experience.
Thanks to Director of Operations, Mr. Sam Arnes and restoration crews for getting the building ready to open today. Students said they were excited to be back in class.

Whiteland Elementary Update!
Just a quick update on the status of Whiteland Elementary School. Restoration crews were able to make great progress in cleaning up the water damage that occurred overnight. To be very clear, there were about 4-5 classrooms that experienced water damage to the carpet tiles, supplies, books, equipment, ceiling tiles, etc., which occurred in one section of the school. The rest of the elementary school did not experience any damage. Therefore, Whiteland Elementary School will be open for classes Thursday morning July 27th. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to the first day of classes for WES students tomorrow.

Overnight rain along with ongoing roof repair has led to water damage in several classrooms at Whiteland Elementary. Therefore classes at Whiteland Elementary are cancelled for the day. Again Whiteland Elementary will be closed for today. All other schools will be open today.
