Read Across America Week
It was an absolute pleasure it was to take the time with students and share some of my favorite reading characters! Last week, I dressed as some of my favorites and read the stories these characters stemmed from and OH, the JOY it brought to me to see the smiling faces in our students!!!! This is what makes my job here at PCES such a true blessing!
PLEASE take the time to read with your child. What they can learn from the storylines and characters in a book is so powerful! Sometimes they can connect with the characters and understand what they are going through in a story in a more empathetic way than a real life scenario. A book can open the door to imagination and emotions for your child and allow them the opportunity to connect with others in certain circumstances, themselves, community members, schoolmates, authority figures, you as a caregiver or parent, or their own emotions and can allow GREAT communication to happen. 😊
Most of these photos below were posted on our Pleasant Crossing Facebook page throughout last week, however, if you are not on social media, here are some photos to enjoy and see what a fantastic time we had. The bright pink tickets in students hands are tickets that were handed out through the week to students who were doing some FABULOUS reading and were rewarded. These tickets are worth 5 Warrior Way tickets and were only handed out last week during Read Across America week. Congratulations to those students who were awarded one!
