He told 6th grade students at a forum, this afternoon, that he wrote 7 different books before getting his first book published. Understanding Supply & Demand!
Econ students at WCHS are learning what it's like to be an entrepreneur this week during the annual Econ Mall project. Students must come up with their own business idea, decide on a partner, figure out a product to sell and then hope for the best.
Some students sold donuts, cookies, pulled pork, tamales, cake pops and some just pop. Each business team is giving a cost production sheet to figure out their cost verses what they can sell the product for to create a profit margin. If they're products sold out they have to figure out how much more they could have made if they had more inventory and if the product didn't sell they had to figure out why.
Some students learned they had to lower their prices when items weren't selling while others raised their prices due to brisk sales. The best part of this project is that the students get to keep the cash from their profits.
