RCE 2nd Grade - Informational Writing - Publishing Party!
Second grade classrooms were transformed into a zoo this afternoon at Ray Crowe Elementary. These second graders had to study the animals of their choice, choose a habitat and research the animals appearance, diet and life span. As with any good story they had to come up with a good introduction and a strong conclusion.
The recipients of all the research and writing were first grade students who got to enter each habitat and have one of the authors read to them. Habitats included the Arctic, The Savannah, The Ocean and an Aviary.
While the work is a lot of fun it's also creating strong writers and readers at the same time.

We are very excited to once again offer our Youth Dance Guard Clinic to all 4th, 5th, and 6th grade CPCSC students on Saturday December 9th starting at 1:30 PM. That same evening the students will then perform with the WCHS Dance Team at the WCHS Varsity Basketball game. The day will conclude after the performance around 7:00 PM. Many more details about the day will be given out upon arrival. Absolutely no dance experience is required!! We will be meeting at the WCHS North Building with the clinic starting at 1:30 PM. Please enter through Door 4 and follow the signs. The cost of the clinic is just $30 and includes a t-shirt, snack, pizza dinner, and free student entry for the basketball game that night. While we will take registrations at the door, we ask that you please register online at http://clinic.whitelandband.com to make sure we have a shirt in your student's exact size. Payment can be made at the door with cash, credit card, or a check to the "Whiteland Band Boosters".

4th grade took a virtual field trip with the Indiana State Fair Wednesday morning. They learned about how the corn products they use originate on the farm. They planted corn and will watch it grow for 7 days. They also got to make oobleck.

Congratulations to our first College Go trivia class winners, Mrs. Nuhfer's 3rd graders!
