Clark-Pleasant Leaders Join Governor for Signing of House Bill 1104
Clark-Pleasant leaders recently stood alongside the Honorable Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb at the Statehouse for the signing of House Bill 1104. Dr. Edsell, Chief Chad Pryce, and Officer Shari Mullins were invited as guests of State Representative Michelle Davis. The bill sets guidelines for safety plans during armed intruder drills and allows School Police Departments to participate in the 1977 Police Pension Plan. Officer Mullins and Chief Pryce previously testified in support of the bill in the Senate and House. This new provision is expected to benefit school resource officers both personally and professionally, aiding in the recruitment and retention of experienced and qualified Police Officers.

Dear Families and Community Members,
We are excited to invite you to a free Youth Mental Health First Aid training session, thanks to our Project AWARE Grant! This important program is designed to empower adults with the knowledge and skills needed to support young people who may be experiencing mental health challenges or crises.
During this training, you'll learn how to identify the signs and symptoms of mental health issues, provide initial support, and connect youth to professional care when necessary. Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, or simply care about the well-being of our community's youth, this course is invaluable.
Space is limited, so please SAVE THE DATE and be on the lookout for the registration to open soon!
We look forward to your participation in this vital training as we work together to support the mental health of our youth.

A great first day at RCES!

Important First Day of School Information
The first days of school are very important, for students learn the procedures and safety rules of the bus, car-rider line, classrooms, hallways, and cafeteria.
Please read the information below in order to prepare your children for the most exciting day of the school year!
School Meals: Breakfast will not be served on our first day of school. Starting on Day 2, students may go to the cafeteria to get their breakfasts before classes begin. If your child will not have a meal at home, please contact our office so that we can ensure that your child has a snack to start the day.
Bus Transportation: It is important that students who ride school buses learn the safety and behavioral expectations from their bus drivers on the first day of school. If your child will normally ride the school bus, please do this on the first day of school instead of bringing them in a car. This will also eliminate confusion during dismissal on day one.
If you have any questions regarding your child’s bus transportation, please visit the transportation website: https://cpcsdin.sites.thrillshare.com/page/transportation
Car/Vehicle Transportation: There are very specific rules regarding car/vehicle transportation and walking to/from school. Please click on the link to read about these procedures and view a map: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10sDHQEmwc4ev8BjZuZ4I5q4_FposQetcSiw0IR3I3rE/edit
We can’t wait to see our RCES students!

New Administrators Announced!
Three new administrative positions were announced during Wednesday evening's school board meeting.
Andrea Lakin will become the new Director of Special Education. Nicole Osborne will lead the new K-5 Trauma & Behavioral Program and Steffen Lewis was named Assistant Principal at Whiteland Elementary. Congratulations!

On this Thankful Thursday, I want to say "Thank You!" to Dr. Edsell, Dr. Shipp, and the Clark-Pleasant Community School Board for surprising me last night at the school board meeting with an award for Recognition Of Excellence in Education. I went to the school board meeting to share an annual review of all the wonderful things CPEF has done this last school year and to hear my contract for an additional role I will be doing this upcoming school year get voted it, but I was completely unaware that I was also getting an award. What a wonderful surprise! I am so grateful of all the recognition I have received from the school in the last month. I am truly honored.
